New Vision Gives Thanks to God for the Preachers He has appointed to preach The Gospel to the People of God.

We Especially Thank God for our Preacher, Rev. Dr. Frederick O. Murph, he has dedicated his life to Preaching the Gospel, he is Faithful and True and he Encourages us with the Scripture to hold on to our Faith, that no matter how things look, we have the victory! Dr. Murph teaches us that God is always present and will guide our steps. Dr. Murph teaches us that God loves and cares for us. Dr. Murph is a courageous Warrior for Christ, we are strengthened by his immovable and unwavering faith in Christ.

We Love You Dr. Murph!!

How shall they hear without a preacher?

In God’s plan, preachers are indispensable. They proclaim the good news of salvation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. To understand why preachers are necessary, we must understand the nature of the gospel. Paul explains this in Romans.

Because everyone sins (Romans 3:23) everyone needs God’s grace.
Paul said about certain Jews: “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God”(Romans 10:3).

We must submit to God’s righteousness to be saved. This requires obedience. Paul says in verse 16: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel.”

Because of our sin, we can never establish our own righteousness, but we can be obedient. We must obey the gospel. Being obedient is not the same as being without sin. Someone who is obedient strives to do the will of God. Although no children are perfect, some are obedient.

“The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17). God’s Son was sent as Savior for those who have an obedient faith: “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, ‘The man who does those things shall live by them.’ But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, ‘Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?” ’ (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, ‘ “Who will descend into the abyss?” ’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ ”

Christ is the end of the law because He offers righteousness from God that depends on obedient faith rather than perfect law-keeping. In chapter 8 Paul explained: “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:3, 4).

When Christ died on the cross He paid the price for sin. This enables God to forgive sinners without overlooking sin. Christ met the requirement of the law in our stead. Because of this grace, perfect law-keeping is no longer required. Those who have an obedient faith, who confess their faith and call on the name of the Lord can be saved.
This good news must be preached! “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’ ” (Romans 10:14, 15). “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Before people can be saved, the good news of salvation by grace must be preached. The one who hears must believe with his heart and confess with his mouth that Jesus is the Christ.

After the resurrection, before ascending to the Father, Jesus commanded His followers to preach the good news to everyone in the whole world. “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem’ ” (Luke 24:45-47).

When Jesus appeared to the eleven as they sat at table, He told them: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:15, 16).

Before He ascended to the Father, He said to them: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Joel prophesied that after God poured out His Spirit, “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Joel 2:32). On the Day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit was pour out (Acts 2:1-4) and Peter preached the good news “That whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

How were his hearers to call on the name of the Lord? They were told: “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). Later, after Saul of Tarsus believed and repented, he heard from the preacher sent to him: “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16).

Thus “calling on the name of the Lord” requires that the gospel be preached, that the hearers believe it, repent, confess their faith and be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.

Paul was so thankful for God’s grace that he preached the gospel the rest of his life.

We need grateful men today who will dedicate the rest of their lives to preaching the gospel.

As Paul explains: “ ‘Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:13, 14).

God’s Warrior Prayer For Victory

Gracious God, I acknowledge that You are worthy of all honor, glory and praise. I am thankful for the victorious work of Your Son, Jesus Christ at Calvary for me. I appropriate His victory for myself now as I willingly surrender every area of my life to Your will. Thank you for the forgiveness and righteousness that has been given to me as Your adopted child. I trust in Your protection and provision daily. I know that your love for me never ceases. I rejoice in Your victory, my Lord. In faith I stand and I commit myself to live obediently for You my King. I desire that my fellowship with You become greater. Reveal to me those things that grieve You and enables the enemy to secure an advantage in my life. I need the Holy Spirit's powerful ministry in my life; bringing conviction of sin, repentance of heart, strengthening my faith and increasing perseverance in resisting temptation. Help me to die to self and walk in the victory of the new creation You have provided for me. Let the fruits of the Spirit flow out of my life so that You will be glorified through my life. I know that it is Your will that I should stand firm and resist all of the enemy's work against me. Help me to discern the attacks upon my thoughts and emotions. Enable me to stand upon Your Word and resist all the accusations, distortions and condemnations that are hurled against me. It is my desire to be transformed through the renewing of my mind, so that I will not compromise with the ways of the world, or yield to the enemy's attacks, but be obedient to Your will. I draw upon those spiritual resources that You have provided me and I attack and rebuke the strongholds and plans of the enemy that have been put in place against me. I command in the name of Jesus Christ that the enemy must release my mind, will, emotions and body completely. They have been yielded to the Lord and I belong to Him. Lord, enable me to become the person You created me to be. Help me as I pray to be strong in faith. Show me how to apply Your Word in my life each day. I know that I wear the full armor of God when I am committed to and stand firmly upon Your Word. I want You to have the supreme place in my life. I surrender myself completely to You, Lord. You are always faithful and You extend Your grace to me constantly, even when I do not realize it. I claim Your promise of forgiveness, cleansing and healing in its fullness. In faith, I receive the victory today that you have already put in place for me. I do this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior with a grateful heart. AMEN

The Power of Spiritual Thought: You Are What You Think

The Legacy

Dr. Frederick O. Murph comes from a long line of Pastors that have led congregations, both large and small. He is the son of the Late Reverend Henry Wendell Murph and the grandson of the late James Washington Murph. These incredible role models have shaped the Pastor, leader, and man that Dr. Frederick O. Murph is today.

Bishop Henry Wendell Murph

Henry Murph was one of the longest serving Bishops in the History of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church. He was known throughout the Los Angeles, California area as mentor to area Pastors and as friend to everyone. He had a ministry of reconciliation, not just with God, but among brothers and sisters in Christ.

He had a heart for other African Americans and constantly strove to bring the love of God to the people, whether they were within the church or not. He believed in people and always looked for the best in everyone. This spirit of reconciliation earned him the Governor of California’s Distinguished Service Award for his efforts at peace during the Watts riots of 1968.

Dr. Murph learned from his father how to truly love everyone, not just those who are like you. It is this spirit of love that pervades everything that he does and was the catalyst for writing his life-changing book, The Power of Spiritual Thought, You Are What You Think.

Reverend James Washington Murph

James Washington Murph began the work of ministry at the age of twenty and within a year was licensed to preach. He received degrees from Claflin University, Gammon Theological Seminary, and Kittrell College. In 1888 he joined the A.M.E. Conference and for many years preached throughout North and South Carolina. During his time he erected three churches and was known as an effective Pastor and Preacher.

Dr. Murph learned from his grandfather that leadership is one of the most important qualities that a man of God can have. Strong leadership has been essential to the fruitful ministry that Dr. Murph has had over the last 30 years.

The Legacy Lives On

Effective leadership and love for the people: these are the important lessons that he has learned from the lives and ministries of his father and grandfather. These two qualities have made him an effective teacher, preacher, pastor, and now author.

Dr. Murph has birthed a new ministry: New Vision-Living In Victory Enlightenment Center. The goal of this ministry is to help people build a strong personal relationship with God through increased knowledge. Dr. Murph seeks to remove the Old Traditions that stand in the way of True Worship.

Meet the Author: Frederick O. Murph

The Power of Spiritual Thought: You Are What You Think

Dr. Frederick O. Murph, the author of The Power of Spiritual Thought: You Are What You Think, has ministered from coast to coast for over 30 years. He has been a spiritual advisor, bible teacher, and counselor to hundreds of individuals and families.

A Legacy of Service

Reverend Doctor Frederick O. Murph comes from a long line of ministers. Both his father and grandfather were Pastor’s in the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church and ministered both in the church and in the community at large.

Dr. Murph has followed in their footsteps and ministers not only to his church and his community, but has worldwide outreach through his first book: The Power of Spiritual Thought: You Are What You Think.

Educational Excellence

Dr. Murph has degrees from American University, Howard University, and Monrovia College. He has his Bachelor of Sciencein Sociology and Religion from American, his Masters of Divinityfrom Howard and his Doctorate of Humanitiesfrom Monrovia College.

A Ministry of Renovation

Like Nehemiah, God has used Dr. Murph to rebuild and renovate His temple. From his very first church in 1978, St. Stephen's A.M.E. in Elkridge, Maryland, Dr. Murph has renovated and revitalized the churches which he has served. He has completed multi-million dollar renovations and additions in his 30 year ministry and has not left the church until those renovations were not only complete but paid for.

Ministry to the Masses

His ministry has not only served to rebuild the temple, but the people of God. While ministry in the church is important, Dr. Murph is always seeking ways to bring God to the masses. He has had several outreach ministries and has hosted numerous radio and television shows.

Television and Radio Ministry

While Pastor of the to First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Oakland, California, Murph also hosted "Community Awareness Forum," which was a live, call-in talk show airing in Oakland. This was a thought-provoking, show that discussed the impact of current events on the community. The show was theologically based and reached people in Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley, and the surrounding areas.

He also had a radio ministry on KJLH, 102.3 FM for 12 years, which reached over 100,000 people. It was noted as “the most listened to broadcast on Sunday mornings.”

Community Outreach Organizations

Giving back to the African American Community is a legacy passed down from Dr. Murph’s father and grandfather. Dr. Murph has started several non-profit organizations to help those in the community including: the Maxine Waters Emancipation Home for Women; The Florence Brothers After School Program; The Mesearu-Ephriam-Villaraigosa Free Legal Clinic; and The Vernon R. Byrd Child Development Center. These organizations serve the community with the same passion that Dr. Murph himself has for the people.

Subject: FW: My Attorney

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.' He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room I couldn't take my eyes off of Him. As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said, 'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this woman belongs in hell.' He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and in the past when I cheated others Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I'd been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done? Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This woman belongs in hell . she is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward. As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior!

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi, Dad,' and then He turned to address the court. 'Satan was correct in saying that this woman had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And yes, the wage of sin is death, and this woman deserves to be punished.' Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and she has accepted Me as her Savior, so she is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'Her name is written in the Book of Life, and no one can snatch her from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This woman is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.' As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, 'There is nothing else that needs to be done.' 'I've done it all.'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips ... 'This woman is free.' The penalty for her has already been paid in full. 'Case dismissed.'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, 'I won't give up, I will win the next one.' I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?' Christ lovingly smiled and said, 'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, ~Paid In Full~

"Stop telling God how big your storm is.

Instead, tell the storm how big your God is!"

In case of an Emergency, Call on the Most High, God

Dial 911, which translates to Psalms 91:1

Psalms 91 vs 1-16

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare of the Lord. He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him for he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague. He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor fear the dangers of the day, nor dread the plague that stalks in darkness nor the disaster that strikes at midday. This is a Beautiful Story that reminds us that God cares about us and

will take care of us

Be Strong with The Whole of Armor of God

EPHESIANS CHAP 6:10-18

Love this story or not, you will not be able to have tea
in a tea cup again without thinking of this.

There was a couple who took a trip to England to shop in a beautiful antique store to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups.Spotting an exceptional cup, they asked "May we see that? We've never seen a cup quite so beautiful."

As the lady handed it to them,suddenly the teacup spoke, "You don't understand. I have not always been a teacup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My master took me and rolled me, pounded and patted me over and over and I yelled out,"Don't do that." "I don't like it!" "Let me alone," but he only smiled, and gently said; "Not yet!"

Then WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was made to suit himself and then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and pounded at the door.

"Help! Get me out of here!" I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head from side to side, 'Not yet'.

When I thought I couldn't bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put me on he shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! "Ah, this is much better," I thought. But, after I cooled he picked me up and he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes
were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Oh, please, "Stop it, Stop, I cried." He only shook his head and said, Not yet!'.

Then suddenly he puts me back in to the oven. Only it was not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. I was convinced I would never make it. I was ready to give up. Just then the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, where I cooled and waited and waited, wondering, "What's he going to do to me next?"

An hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself.' And I did. I said, "That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful!!!"

Quietly he spoke: "I want you to remember. I know it hurt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I just left you alone, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened. You would not have had any color in your life. If I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't have survived for long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you."

The moral of this story is this: God knows what He's doing for each of us. He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make
us and expose us to just enough pressures of just the right kinds that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good,
pleasing and perfect will.

So when life seems hard, and you are being pounded and patted and pushed almost beyond endurance; when your world seems to be spinning out of control; when you feel like you are in a fiery furnace of trials; when life seems to "stink", try this.

Brew a cup of your favorite tea in your prettiest tea cup, sit down and think on this story and then, have a little talk with the Potter

Dr. Murph has over 30 years of experience as an effective spiritual counselor and guide, Dr. Murph's ministry continues to provide spiritual counseling through anointed sermons, bible study and one-on-one sessions with individuals and families; over 3500 counseling sessions dealing with relationship matters, bereavement and youth concerns. Dr. Murph is a spiritual advisor to politicians, entertainers, entrepreneurs and fellow ministers.

During his undergraduate studies at American University in Washington, D.C., his dual major consisted of courses in Sociology and Religion. While excelling in his sociology courses, he was selected for an internship with the Chairman of the Sociology Department. After a number of graduate level courses in Sociology, Dr. Murph developed a broader understanding of people and how they relate to one another within the framework of society. While Sociology equipped him with the understand of man's relationship with society, the Religion major provided him with a solid theological foundation and understanding of man's spiritual relationship (connection) with God.

During his 3 year matriculation at Howard University Divinity School in Washington, D.C., he received extensive clinical pastoral training and education at Howard University Hospital. The hospital's divinity training included a holistic approach to medicine. Divinity students (ministers) were on medical teams with psychologists, interns, and social workers; each member of the team had a specific expertise and responsibility. The divinity students were called upon to spiritually diagnose and counsel patients based on conversations with them. The divinity students' spiritual discernment was also used to determine the underlying cause of the patient's current condition in the hospital and the mental wards.

The aforementioned academic training and the substantial experience associated with being a pastor for over 30 years further qualifies Dr. Murph to write this book.

B.A.D.

While shopping at a local Wal-Mart, a woman spotted a man with an acronym on his shirt that had B.A.D. Being the person that she was (curious), she stopped the man and asked, "What does B.A..D... Stand for?" And trust me; you'll be amazed at what his response was. He replied B.A.D. Stands for: "Blessed And Delivered". That thought stuck with her as she finished doing her shopping that day. So she came up with a little advice for you today.

1. When the enemy tries to attack you, beB.A.D.

2. When things don't seem to be going right on your job, know that you are B.A.D.
3. When things are not looking good in your marriage, beB.A.D.
4. When folks scandalize your name, just beB.A.D.
5. Get with somebody who you know that you can beB.A.D.With!!!

Finding Victory through Struggle

Many people think that once they are saved, once they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior that they will no longer have to deal with the same issues in life as everyone else. Being a member of the family of God means that we are entitled to the abundant life promised by God. However, that does not mean that we will no longer have to deal with issues and struggles of life.

Dealing with Struggle

The life of a Christian is not an easy one. There will be times in life when we must deal with temptations, suffering for our beliefs, the jealousy of other people, and even our own anger. However, through unceasing prayer and careful study of the Word of God, we can experience God’s victory in our lives.

Choosing Victory

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

We can choose to be victorious over our struggles. By following Jesus, we have victory over sin and death. We can choose to pray and study diligently the Word of God or we can choose to let anger, disappointments, and the jealousy of other people take over our thoughts and keep us from the promises of God.

Changing the Way We Think

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7 Simply put, the thoughts that we entertain (sow) are the outer and sometimes inner experiences, which will eventually be manifested (reaped) in our lives.”

Only by sowing seeds of the word of God and diligent prayer, can we reap the harvest of God’s victory and abundance in our lives. The more we sow to please God, the more we will be rewarded by Him. However, the reverse is also true. The more we sow thoughts of anger, hatred, and discord, the more we will reap those things in our lives. We will always have struggles and issues to deal with, but by changing the way we think, we can live victorious and fruitful lives.
